Hallo dear readers,
Today I wrote a story, a story about a man, a man with a dream. To conquer the seas and discover new lands, new places. But to make his dream come true he must first find the courage. Will he find it?
Let's dive in :)
It was night, a night without end. Just as the sun was about to rise, the man was afraid, afraid and stepped back. He was afraid to let the light out, afraid that dangers might see him. He was afraid to see himself, those things he imagines in the light, those that scare him. He was hiding behind the darkness, he didn’t have the courage to leave its protection. But to what extent did it really protect him? Maybe in the end it trapped him, instead of protecting him? As the darkness dominated, he walked, walked in the market. Each of his steps without fear, but also without purpose, tired and heavy. The stones did not embrace him, but pushed him. To where the darkness did not let him go. Earlier it rained, and like every time, so now, he remembered the water. The water he loves so much, the water he wants so much to conquer, through the sails and through the oars. But one difference, one difference divides them. The sails embrace the wind, and the oars embrace the water. But he, does not embrace the light. He looks at the market stalls, but no one sells anything. Everyone asks for something, some kind of exchange. But he is afraid, afraid to let go of what he has. And as long as he does not let go, the stalls will remain empty, empty and abandoned. As always, as every day. Until he reaches the end, the last stall. There suddenly, he sees something unusual, a full stall. Not with things, but with light, with white light. A light so bright that filled your heart with warmth. His heart excitedly beats in his chest, while his feet, after a long time, find hope again, hope for something new. Reaching there, the light begins to recede. A shining woman appears behind the stall. It is the first time the man meets the unknown in his life.
‘‘‘
“Who are you?” he says, unsettled
‘‘‘
“Life,” says the woman
‘‘‘
“What life?”
‘‘‘
“The one and only. The common to all.”
‘‘‘
“With many faces.”
‘‘‘
Life laughs “Right, I appear differently to each one.”
‘‘‘
“And what do you want here?”
‘‘‘
“To give you what you want.”
‘‘‘
“And how do you know what I want?”
‘‘‘
“Don’t hide from me.”
‘‘‘
“Alright…” says the man with his gaze down “And why now? Why in this way?”
‘‘‘
“Because I know, I know that sometimes a random, an unusual event is needed. An event that will ignite the flame, the flame of the explorer.”
‘‘‘
“Whose explorer?”
‘‘‘
“The explorer who explores the map. The map I gave him, made exclusively for him.”
‘‘‘
“So you make a different one for each?”
‘‘‘
Then life sighs “Exactly, listening to each one’s heart.”
‘‘‘
“So you will give me what I want?”
‘‘‘
“I will give it to you… After you give me the exchanges I want.”
‘‘‘
“And what are these exchanges?”
‘‘‘
“The darkness, for the light. The dream, for the actions. The silence, for the noise.”
‘‘‘
“Why this one?” says the man, puzzled
‘‘‘
“Because only through noise is given the space, for something new to be born.”
‘‘‘
The man suddenly feels someone behind him, fear. The fear that offers him all this, all that life asks in exchange. And this, without asking for any exchange. That’s what she says at least. His feet tremble, one wants to move forward, the other backward.
‘‘‘
“Do you accept?” says life smiling
‘‘‘
The man takes a half step and says “I accept.”
‘‘‘
Then they exchange a handshake.
The night becomes day. The man in the waves, together with the oars, together with the sails. New seas he conquers, new shores he meets, new unique moments he loves, but also treasures, full he acquires. And life, life from afar, watches and laughs.
