-He was heavily influenced by his father, Michael Pedersen Kierkegaard, a devout and melancholic man.
-In 1841, he broke off his engagement to Regine Olsen, a decision that deeply affected both of them.
-He died in 1855 after collapsing in the street and spent his final weeks criticizing the Church of Denmark.
